3 Day First Aid at Work

First aid is the immediate medical assistance given to someone who is injured or suddenly taken ill. The First Aid at Work course from Skillrise equips you with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to deal with workplace accidents and medical emergencies effectively.

This three-day course is fully compliant with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and is tailored to meet both HSE requirements and the specific needs of construction sites.

• Individuals aged 16+ who may need to provide first aid at work
• Staff appointed as workplace First Aiders
• Workplaces with higher risks, such as construction, manufacturing, or where employees have medical conditions
• Anyone seeking a recognised first aid qualification for professional or voluntary roles

The training blends theory with practical, hands-on exercises so you can act with confidence in real-life emergencies. Topics include:

• Incident and casualty management
• Recovery position
• CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
• AED (Defibrillator) use
• Wounds, bleeding, and shock management
• Dealing with fractures, burns, and other injuries
• Responding to sudden illnesses such as heart attacks, strokes, and seizures

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

• Handle life-threatening situations quickly and effectively
• Support recovery and stabilise casualties until medical help arrives
• Save lives by using CPR, defibrillation, and other key techniques
